Fatigue and Fracture of Engineering Materials and StructuresAbstract
This issue of Fatigue and Fracture Engineering Materials and Structures international journal presents a selection of some extended version of papers presented at the 6th International Conference on Very High Cycle Fatigue. This is very interesting research topic of fatigue rises notably in the last two decades. With growing concerns of fatigue life requirement of many components well beyond 1E7 load cycles, the study on a variety of aspects of very high cycle fatigue, especially Advancements in VHCF instrumentations, Advanced Materials, Influence of Environment and Temperature, Influence of Small Scale Damages, Effect of Microstructure on Crack Initiation Mechanism, Life Prediction, Statistical Analysis and Modeling in Fatigue, attracted permanent attention of scientists and designers during this VHCF conference.

Communication sans acteDue to its specific mechanical properties, tantalum is often used in strength-demanding military applications. High cycle fatigue (HCF) behaviour of pure tantalum, however, has been rarely reported and the mechanisms at ...
