A Method for the Quantification of Nanoparticle Dispersion in Nanocomposites Based on Fractal Dimension
TypeChapitres d'ouvrages scientifiques
Dispersion quantification provides critical insight and towards understanding and improving the influence of nanoparticle dispersion on the behaviour of the nanocomposite at macro and nanoscale level. This study was precipitated by the limitations of most methods for quantifying dispersion to sufficiently handle issues regarding scalability, complexity, consistency and versatility. A quantity (D 0 ) based on the variance of the fractal dimension was used to quantify dispersion successfully. The concept was validated using real microscopy images. The approach is simple and versatile to implement.

ANANE-FENIN, Kwame; AKINLABI, Esther Tililabi; PERRY, Nicolas (IOP Publishing, 2019)This study was prompted by the inadequacy of most dispersion quantification techniques to address issues pertaining to scalability, implementation complexity, accuracy/error, uncertainty factors and versatility. Therefore, ...
A Numerical And Statistical Approach For Optimization Of Tab Design For Non-Crimp Fabric Composites ANANE-FENIN, Kwame; AKINLABI, Esther Tililabi; PERRY, Nicolas (Elsevier BV, 2019)In standard practice, testing of composites in tension requires the use of stress inducing serrated grips. The low transverse compressive strength of unidirectional non-crimp fabric composites limits the application of ...

Critical review of multi-criteria decision aid methods in conceptual design phases: application to the development of a solar collector structure EL AMINE, Mehdi; PAILHES, Jérôme; PERRY, Nicolas (Springer, 2014)At each stage of the product development process, the designers are facing an important task which consists of decision making. Two cases are observed: the problem of concept selection in conceptual design phases and, the ...
