This issue of Fatigue and Fracture Engineering Materials and Structures international journal presents a selection of some extended version of papers presented at the 6th International Conference on Very High Cycle Fatigue. This is very interesting research topic of fatigue rises notably in the last two decades. With growing concerns of fatigue life requirement of many components well beyond 1E7 load cycles, the study on a variety of aspects of very high cycle fatigue, especially Advancements in VHCF instrumentations, Advanced Materials, Influence of Environment and Temperature, Influence of Small Scale Damages, Effect of Microstructure on Crack Initiation Mechanism, Life Prediction, Statistical Analysis and Modeling in Fatigue, attracted permanent attention of scientists and designers during this VHCF conference.

ROBERT, Camille; SAINTIER, Nicolas; PALIN-LUC, Thierry; MOREL, Franck (ELSEVIER, 2012)An analysis of high cycle multiaxial fatigue behaviour is conducted through the numerical simulation of polycrystalline aggregates using the finite elementmethod. The metallicmaterial chosen for investigation is pure copper, ...
Simulation of multiaxial fatigue strength of steel component treated by surface induction hardening and comparison with experimental results PALIN-LUC, Thierry; COUPARD, Dominique; DUMAS, C.; BRISTIEL, Philippe (Elsevier, 2011)This paper proposes a method to assess the high-cycle multiaxial fatigue strength of components treated by surface induction hardening (SIH). Surface quenching following surface induction heating is simulated, taking into ...
OBORIN, V.; BANNIKOV, M.V.; NAIMARK, O.; PALIN-LUC, Thierry (Wiley, 2010)The role of the collective behavior of defect ensembles at the crack tip and the laws of fatigue crack propagation in R4 high-strength steel have been studied under conditions of symmetric tension-compression gigacycle ...
Effect of mean shear stress on the fatigue strength of notched components under multiaxial stress state BENNEBACH, Mohamed; PALIN-LUC, Thierry; MESSAGER, Alexandre (Elsevier, 2018)The effect of a static and intermittent shear stress on the HCF strength of two quenched and tempered steel grades used to produce shafts in crane industry was studied on notched specimens (Kt=1.7 and 2.7) for being ...
HOR, Anis; SAINTIER, Nicolas; ROBERT, Camille; PALIN-LUC, Thierry; MOREL, Franck (Elsevier, 2014)Multiaxial high cycle fatigue modeling of materials is an issue that concerns many industrial domains (automotive, aerospace, nuclear, etc.) and in which many progress still remains to be achieved. Several approaches exist ...
